Bitten By The Broken Microsoft Licensing Site :(

We just renewed … well, attempted to renew our Open Value licensing and this is what happens when we click the eAgreement link in the e-mail:

The last agreement we put together for a client was a bit of a nightmare to make happen. We ended up needing to get all of the forms signed manually.

An e-mail has been fired off to our Microsoft licensing contacts at our supplier asking for those forms so we don’t waste any time troubleshooting the process, or waiting on hold for eons, with Microsoft. :(

We already tried Windows 7 IE8, Windows XP Pro and IE 7, and a few other tricks. Even Firefox didn’t come through for us this time!

  1. We've been fighting with getting keys and media downloads from the Licensing site since last Thursday.
It took 2.5 hours and 5 phone calls to get the Excel 2007 download today. The reason you pay the premium for VL has to be the service.

  2. There are some that have been locked out of their keys and downloads for over a month now. See Susan's blog about her experiences.
