Product Review: beats by dr. dre: studio – Amazing *****

We do a fair amount of purchasing via credit card. To date our distribution points have asked us to switch to NET 15 or NET 30 for our terms but were unwilling to meet our request for a percentage break on our prices to switch to cash.

So, we keep our credit cards going. The best card we have is a Canadian Tire Financial MasterCard. They have amazing customer service and their rates and limits are second to none for us (probably due to the fact that we pass _a lot_ of purchases through that card in a month.

Lately we have been using our RBC Avion VISA to accrue some points as there are a few items on the RBC  (Royal Bank of Canada) Rewards list that we had our eye on. As a rule we prefer the MasterCard because Canadian Tire is so much easier to deal with than RBC.

One such product was the following that we just received:

The packaging experience was a reminder of what it was like to unpack the MacBook Pro a few years back. The packaging was amazing with everything well laid out and protected for shipping.

These phones are nothing short of amazing . . . absolutely . . . completely . . . totally good loving to the ears! :D

Some of the tunes we have passed through them since receiving them:

  • 54-40: Casual Viewing Live
    • The sounds coming through from the crowd were so clear it was as though I was right there with them!
  • Moby: Extreme Ways
    • Mmmmm … base love from an awesome soundtrack!
  • Cobra Starship: You Make Me Feel…
    • Lot’s of good vocals and beats there . . .
    • And man do those lows sound awesome!
  • Celine Dion: I’m Alive
    • Monique’s absolute favourite with an amazing voice.
    • Yes, I like her too (she’s grown on me ;0) )
  • Adele: 21
    • Her voice is gorgeous!
  • Buddy Guy: Where the Blues Begins
    • Oh so smooth! :)
  • 8Tracks: Summer Sweat Fest
    • Some good grooving with lots of variety

The phones come with two cables along with adapters for 1/8” stereo ports and a dual mono male to single 1/8” female airplane adapter. One cable is a stereo patch while the other also has an integrated microphone and answer/activate button. They also came with a nice carrying case that has a protective sleeve for the cables. That will come in handy when it comes time to use them on flights.

We ran the “Dad” test earlier with the phone to see how he could hear me through the microphone and it passed with flying colours though I needed to project my voice a bit. The flip side was that there was a need to turn the ear piece volume right down on the phone itself as anything above 3-4 on the scale of 30 and it was way too loud!

In the end these phones are going to get _a lot_ of use here in the shop and at home.

They are truly amazing and worth every penny if purchased outright.
