SBS - DCDiag produces IsmServ Error

When checking the AD setup on a client's multi DC SBS setup, we had the following error in the DCDiag tests:
Starting test: Services
IsmServ Service is stopped on [My-SBS]
A quick search turned up the following on the TechArena forums: Failed DCdiag Test.

That in turn lead us to: MS KB829623: Default Services That Are Installed in Windows Small Business Server 2003.

Note that the ISMServ shows up in the "Disabled" services list.

Thus, there was no cause for concern.

Yes...but what if you want to run DCDiag on an SBS server and dont want to see this error in your reports?

We use DCDiag to check for errors that the inbuilt SBS reporting does not find.

So the question is, if this is normal, how do we prevent it from registering as an error?

It's by design...

Turn the service on, and you won't see the error.
