Chris Knight - You won the E6750 CPU Contest!

In a previous blog post: Answer the Intel Xeon Questions & Win an Intel Boxed E6750, we requested some insight on some burning Intel CPU related questions. :)

Chris Knight courageously came up with some pretty good insight into the questions we asked.

While we still haven't received a total confirmation yet, Chris did confirm what one of the Intel Call Jockeys mentioned regarding the "X" prefix on Intel Xeon 5000 series CPUs: It is an indicator of an unlocked multiplier for overclocking.

So, Chris please get in touch via a comment here, and we will arrange to send you your CPU.

Thanks for taking the time to contribute to our blog. We value your comments and time!

Hi Philip,

Thanks for your generosity, but I don't really need an E6750 and it's not why I answered the questions. You had some good questions that Intel should have been able to answer and I felt that I had some reasonable answers. From my point of view it was helping out a peer, much like I'd do at a conference or users group meeting.

I'd much prefer you kept the E6750 in stock and donated an equivalent amount to an organisation like MSF. I'd get more kick out of that than receiving an E6750.

I hope I haven't offended you by my reply.

Chris,

Absolutely no offense taken! :D

Consider it done.

We will make a donation to MSF on your behalf.

Thanks for you input. It is greatly appreciated!
