When it comes to updating some of the Intel server configurations that we have put together, we use the EFI Shell to update any server related BIOS and firmware.
The update being run on an Intel Server System SR1560SF this evening choked. It turned out to be some bad files on the USB Flash drive.
The benefit to using the EFI Shell was the ability to pull the USB flash drive, update the files on it, and plug it back in without losing connection to the drive.
Once we forced the BMC update to run we had things up to where we wanted them to be and were able to move on.
